The articles here show how to extend tx from 144-146 and 430-440 MHz to 136-174 and 420-470 MHz by removing a 0 ohms "resistor" from a row of pads located in the front-left corner of the transceiver. 
 
If you only remove the resistor the extension is ok but the Automatic Repeater Shift move to the american way, both on 2m and 70cm bands. To fix this problem, solder the resistor to the third pad (it was removed from the second pad).

io ho l'FT-7900 che è molto molto simile e non ce l'ha.
